My craftster hero.
If there are two things that I love, they're crafts and Teen Girl Squad. Enter these mittens:
Prediction: Dead within a year.

Oh, Pete Doherty, thank you. With God-rock gaining popularity and musicians embracing sobriety, somebody's got to keep the dream alive. Take the drugs out of rock n' roll, and what do we have left? It's a sorry state of affairs indeed. But you--you sacrifice your health, your dashing good looks and even your freedom to remind us all of the principles upon which the Great Nation of Rock was founded. Arrested twice in one day? Dude, rock on...
PSA: Internet use linked to low self-esteem.
I've spent too much time on the internet today looking at pictures of what other people are doing and reading about their fabulous lives. People are doing awesome things: exploring ruins, going on cross-country hikes, getting jobs with amazing companies and pretty much kicking ass. It makes me, all of a sudden, feel like I haven't been successful enough, or brave enough, or smart enough, like my life is too little. I'm thinking about all the great opportunities I've had, and how I feel like maybe I didn't do well enough with them, like maybe I blew it. And I know that is not the truth. I shouldn't feel this way. Just yesterday, I was thinking how full and wonderful and big my life is; how it's a sweet life and I'm proud of it. I'm going to go clean some more and when I come back, I'm going to write about all the things I was planning on until I went on a compare-a-thon. The things that make me happy and excited and proud.
For 40 hours a week, this is where I am.
A long overdue shout-out
Since I just gave my site a new look, I'd like to introduce y'all to the sexy bitch that is responsible for the painting on the background of my banner. Meet Miss Angela Moore:
She is a student at UGA and general hottie, as well as an artist. She did a series on Athens, GA, location of the University of Georgia and my current home, a few years ago. They are really beautiful. There are around a dozen in all, three of which I own and are hanging in my apartment. Last year, Angela submitted some of her work to be included in a coffee-table book about Athens featuring the work of Athens artists and history written by Loran Smith of Georgia Bulldog football commentator fame, and Terry Kay, popular novelist known for To Dance With the White Dog and other books. Four of her paintings were selected for publication in the book, for which she received a hefty paycheck, and lots attention at book signings (!).
The Athens Sketchbook makes a great gift for those who live, visit or went to school in Athens. You can buy the book here from Amazon. Keep an eye out for picture gallery of Angela's work in my scrapbook, and contact me at aprilbmoore[at]gmail[dot]com for information on purchasing prints.
Then you can say you knew-her-back-when.
